Recipes

My goal for this page is to share the the most easy and practical recipes using Young Living's most affordable oils (most of them found in the Every Day Living Start Up Kit). Here are some simple ideas for every day use around your home.

Homemade Tooth Paste

3 Tbsp Coconut Oil
2 Tbsp Baking Soda
1 Tbsp Vegetable Glycerin (food grade) (optional)
1/2 tsp or more of Xylitol
15 -25 drops of essential oil of choice (I use a mixture of Wintergreen, Peppermint, and Clove, but you can also include Spearmint, Theives, or Cinnamon Bark - use sparingly because Cinnamon is a hot oil).

Combine ingredients in a bowl, mash and mix with a fork until it becomes a paste. Depending on your preference, you may want to add a little more baking soda to thicken it. However, I prefer more coconut oil to baking soda (since baking soda can be a bit harsh on your teeth). Store in an airtight glass container with lid.

Purification Bathroom Air Freshener

Place 1/8 tsp of epsom salt at bottom of 2 ounce amber/blue glass spray bottle. Put 15 - 18 drops of Purification over the epsom salt and let it soak in. Then, fill the bottle with purified or distilled water to the top. Shake and use.

This air freshener cuts through odors without a perfume-y, synthetic fragrance. It makes your bathroom smell very uplifting after a few sprays.

 Citrus Vinegar Cleaner

Fill a quart size jar full of leftover citrus peels. Pour white vinegar up to the top. Add 5-8 drops of each essential oil. Let mixture sit in a cool, dark place for a couple weeks. Remove citrus peels and pour vinegar cleaner into a glass spray bottle for cleaning counter-tops in the bathroom and kitchen.

I used Orange and Grapefruit in this blend, but I have also used Young Living's Citrus Fresh blend and Lemon. Their citrus oils are the most affordable, ranging from $10 - $16, which is why they are so *perfect* to use for every day cleaning.

Cooling Summer Spray
8 ounce dark glass bottle with sprayer top
Purified/Distilled water
Epsom salt
Wintergreen & Peppermint essential oil

Pour 1/8 tsp of espom salt in the bottom of glass bottle and place 10 drops of each essential oil on it. Let it soak in, then fill with water. Shake and spray during long, hot summers. It is a nice spray to use when you get home from shopping or running errands in the heat. You immediately feel the cooling sensation of the minty essential oils.

Peaceful Pillow Spray

2 oz. amber/dark blue glass sprayer bottle
15 drops of essential oil of choice (I recommend Peace & Calming, Joy, or Lavender)
